As about 10% of sexual dysfunction is not medical in nature hypnosis may not resolve your problem. This is not a medical intervention and you should have seen a medical expert in this area prior to meeting with your hypnotist. If you have not had a diagnostic check you may be a lucky one, from the 10% group, who responds to hypnosis. Choose your attitude -
Maintain a positive outlook. Abraham Lincoln, who suffered many setbacks in his life, once said “A man is about as happy as he chooses to be” when he was asked about his generally positive and happy demeanour. People like to be around positive people.

Choose your physiology -
Stand tall, adopt a confident posture, hold your head high, look up and breath in deep.  This posture will work on your mind and your subconscious mind will know that you are sending it a strong message to be positive.   The mind affects the physiology and the physiology affects the mind.  You choose the one you want.

Be active

Participate in community activities and social groups, you will meet and share with others and it is also a great networking opportunity.

Be pro-active
Set goals, plan and set out to achieve them, take immediate action. Take control and become the cause of things in your life.

Plan -
Look to where you want to be.  Plan how to get there and focus on your goal.  It will astound you how focusing on your goal and taking action to achieve it to reap the rewards it offers will motivate you.   Make the goal worthwhile and something to really look forward to and make sure you set a timeframe.

Make a Budget

Take charge of your finances and prepare a budget, involve the whole family and discover ways to cut costs while still having some fun.

Be a survivor

Survivors find ways to progress and they learn from all their experiences and celebrate all victories however big or small.
Does not be a recession victim – We all share the burden; this is not being done to you personally. This crisis is across society and across the globe, you are not alone.

Find low cost entertainment
Discover or rediscover the fun of playing board games, or cards with family or friends or walking in the bush or a trip to somewhere nice that doesn’t require “wads of cash”.

Know the recession will pass

Understand that economic “booms” and “busts” come and go. Every “bust” has been followed by a recovery and every “boom” by a correction. History shows that each high point has been surpassed in the following cycle or two. How long? – is the question to be answered.

Opportunities abound

Many people shut up shop during tight times leaving gaps in the market for those who can take advantage of them.

Do a good turn every day

The psychological benefits of assisting someone else last for hours. Baden Powell had it right and you may wonder if he truly recognised the impact.  The “Pay It Forward ” principle.

There will be many false opportunities. Use good judgement, research investments or jobs, get good advice from trusted professionals and never forget the rule of thumb that says “the higher the return the greater the risk and the more likely it is a scam”.

Be true

Know and understand how this crisis has really affected you, not how you think it has, and work from there to build or rebuild your future. Take stock of all your assets, liabilities, income and expenses and the environment in which you operate. Get evidence; do not make decisions based on presumptions or operate from fear (feeling expectations as real).

Adventures with Hypnosis Relaxation

In 1949, I had a real problem with a dental phobia. Four dentists had turned me down as a patient. I had two abscessed teeth and a mouthful of other cavities. My dental phobia was so bad that it had forced me to go to a hospital some years earlier in order to have three abscessed teeth removed while I was unconscious.

I went to a dental convention where I found the recommended dentist who did hypnosis. He couldn’t work on my teeth, but he said he thought he could help me. So, at the lunch break, I went to his room with several other dentists, and he hypnotized me with a “standard” induction technique. Then, he taught me a psychological trick of relaxation. If I raised my left hand whenever I felt my right hand becoming a fist, indicating tension, the dentist would stop, and I would relax my right hand, and lower my left hand.) I didn’t believe it would work, but I made an appointment with the last dentist who had turned me down and had recommended hypnosis.

For the first few minutes, I kept raising my left hand, and he stopped immediately. After that, I didn’t need to raise my left hand much at all, and he worked fast.

He pulled the two bad teeth, and drilled and filled a dozen more in one single hour and half session. I had Novocain for the bad ones, and didn’t need it for the others. Both the dentist and I were amazed at this, and he asked if I were really twins

To me, a 22-year-old engineering student, this was a genuine “miracle”, and I started to learn all I could about this miracle cure. I read everything I could find, from the 1700′s literature about Mesmer, Coue, etc, up to Erickson, Barber, etc.

I became an electronic engineer, and pursued this as my major career, but my avocation continued to be hypnosis, and by extension, psychology. (Much of behavior psychology is similar to hypnosis). I used it professionally, taught it in a major university to doctors, and continued to learn about it. I performed some “shows”, and considered a career as a stage hypnotist, but was more interested in using it for helping people, as it had helped me. Read the rest of this entry »

How to Hypnotize Yourself

Being able to hypnotize yourself is a powerful tool that you can use to gain confidence, speak affirmations to your subconsciousness, or simply go into deep relaxation in order to handle stress. Self hypnosis is the act of placing yourself in a state of trance for a specific reason without a hypnosis actually working on it. Self hypnosis tends to be a little more challenging as you have to learn the steps and practice to get it done right.

Knowing how to hypnotize yourself can help you deal with low self esteem and even induce affirmations such as quit smoking or lose weight. In order to hypnotize yourself you have to use high concentration, complete relaxation, and extensive imagery in order to induce trance.

If you are going to be using affirmations in your hypnosis session make sure that they are ready before you start. You don’t want to get into trance and then start thinking about affirmations – have them all ready before you even begin.

Find a quiet place where you won’t be bothered for 15-25 minutes. Self hypnosis can take anywhere up to 25 minutes but there’s really no time limit so you can keep at it for as long as you wish. There is absolutely no harm in self hypnosis.

Now close your eyes and imagine waves of relaxation surging through your body. With every breathe that you take your body becomes more heavy, the heavier your body gets the more your muscles feel lose and limp as relaxation flows through the top of your head, pours over your neck, streaming down your torso, and finally flowing through your legs down to your feet. Your eyes feel heavier and heavier and you become more and more relaxed as the waves of relaxation wash you with deep clamness and tranquility.

The top paragraph demonstrates the imagery you have to utilize in order to induce trance. Use suggestive words such as “I am very relaxed, relaxation is flowing through my body” or “My eyes are getting heavy, every muscle in my body feels loose and limb” in order to help yourself enter the trance stage.

After you successfully entered the trance state go ahead and speak your affirmation out loud mixing in with the suggestive words that you were previously using.This will help you speak directly to your subconsciousness and make the changes that you wish.
